During August 2 walks in the Pirin National Park are being offered. You have the opportunity to join Peter and Jacqui Lister and go with them on 2 of their favourite Pirin mountain walks.
Peter is a qualified UK Mountain Leader. Both he and Jacqui have explored the Pirin range on foot (skis and bike) during the last 10 years. They have walked the complete traverse from The Predel to Melnik.
There will be a maximum of 8 people per walk and we will need confirmation in advance

Ascent 400m
Walk duration 3 – 4hrs
10am Meet Dobrinishte ski lift car park. Take the lift to Bezbog Hut and on to the summit before returning to the hut. NB you will need money for the chairlift.
This is a walk best suited to people with moderate fitness. There are large boulders to cross so a good level of agility is required.

Mt Vihren (2917m)
Ascent 940m
10am meet hizha Vihren car park and ascend the North face of the highest peak in the Pirin range via the Golyam Kazan cirque. Returning to the hut via the Vihreski Preslap.
This walk is again suitable to people with a moderate fitness level, the route requires a small amount of simple scrambling where the use of hands may be required.
Equipment for either walk;
Walking boots or Trail/Approach shoes NOT trainers. The terrain is rocky underfoot.
Food for the day
Drink (min 1L)
Warm clothing layer and a waterproof. It can get cool on the tops and may even rain
Sun hat
Sunscreen
Personal first aid kit
Rucksack
This is the minimum amount of equipment. If you’re a seasoned walker then the usual equipment you would take for a full mountain day.
We recommend you wear loose fitting, quick drying clothing NOT denim, your mobile phone is fully charged and don’t forget a camera!
